Scope & Sequence
The Michigan Model for HealthTM (MMH) facilitates learning through a variety of interactive teaching and learning techniques. Skill development through demonstration and guided practice is emphasized resulting in the development of positive lifestyle behaviors for students and families.

The Michigan Model for Health™ program builds students’ health literacy and lifelong wellness through an evidence-based Tier 1 curriculum. The Scope and Sequence K-12 overview shows a summary of how key health concepts and skills build from early learning through high school. It outlines the focus areas, subjects, learning objectives, and essential skills for each grade, helping teachers see the progression of student learning across K-12.

The Michigan Model for HealthTM Program aligns with the national health education standards and CASEL to support positive student health behaviors from K-12. The Skills Competencies Guide helps educators implement the program by providing a detailed reference of grade-level curriculum units, lesson titles, and the corresponding health education standards and CASEL competencies. It serves as a practical tool for planning instruction, tracking skill development, and ensuring alignment across grades.
